bio
Akshita (she/her) is an award-winning Artistic Changemaker who works across several art forms in the pursuit of supporting social justice.
Curated by an infinite curiosity, Akshita’s approach is designed with ever-growing care practices in mind. Through offerings and contributions of leadership, theatre and live art experimentation, creative producing, activism and advocacy, governance, a variety of community facilitation, filmwork, and virtual reality imagination; she has and continues to work in different parts of the Earth, in different contexts - whether that be moments inspired by lived experience, collective dreaming or communal reflecting.
Full of creative thinking and a determination to learn from every experience, she is guided by a strong love for people (and the worlds that exist within that), a philosophy of ‘prevention over cure’; and where that isn’t possible – a deep calling to nurture healing.

Artistic Statement
Always with her eyes to the sky and her heart with people, Akshita makes work by weaving reality with imagination to create portals to what the world could be.
Nurturing care and empathy to create a domino effect of cultural change and vibrant expansion, to contextualise the power that people dream of in never-arrived tomorrows, she digs.
Digging to unearth the unfiltered nature that is often shut away, she holds moments of multifaceted energies through objects, bodies and stories told through sensory experiences, whether live or through immersive or interactive technology.
Through her words, often woven across different tongues and styles of working, she relishes disarming the spoken status quo as well as it’s unspoken counterpart; encouraging curiosity in the space where unquestioned beliefs previously existed to open the door to conversation, regardless of which creative hat she dons in that minute.
Loving bright colours, uninhibited mayhem and a messy playground full of wizards and dreamscapes of the future, Akshita looks at the ways the world could heal.
