Papershow
Papershow is an interactive, immersive piece about the present state of UK media.
Combining Smart Stage digital art and technologically heavy art production with live actors, limited audiences wrote, edited and presented news stories, live in a media studio.
Actors, Akshita, Anna Lilley, Molly Miller and Michael Otteson, embodied politicians, media leads, studio workers and technical support whilst audiences contributed as writers, editors, news presenters and content creators for the studio to expand the concept, technology, lighting and video design of Toby Riding.
Satirically insightful and high-pressure, live audiences changed the course of the fictionalised UK media news in a choose-your-own-adventure style show, as their sociopolitical swings and roundabouts changed the course of peace, protest, public opinion and politics through the content the audience media teams were curating.
Papershow debuted in the Digital Studio at RBC Symposium Festival 2023 for a limited 7 show run.
